Marriage & Relationship Goals- The one where I don't snap

I'm doing something I sadly haven't done in a while, linking up with Amberly on Marriage and relationship goals! This is an awesome link up that helps hold us accountable in setting goals for our marriages or relationships, and updating our progress once a month.
My goal this month is simple: focusing on quality time to work on my marriage in the midst of all the holiday excitement. If your holidays look anything like mine, they will be jammed packed with family gatherings, stress, holiday travel, stress, gift givings, stress, and more stress! It is easy to hit your limit and snap at the closest person, usually your spouse, even though you don't mean to.
And, with me, this will be my first holiday season with Fibromyalgia. I will have to really pay attention to my body, and know my limits of when it's time to go, or how much work/cooking/standing/playing with the nieces and nephews I can tolerate before I hit my rock bottom. Which will prove a difficult task because I'm the type who wants to squeeze every drop of fun out of the holidays there is!
So, everyday, with my morning prayers, I will focus on being intentional with my marriage. I will pray that I do not take my stress out on my Mr., and really focus on having a great holiday season with him, not just "getting by" until the holidays and family obligations are over.
What are your marriage and relationship goals for the month? Link up with us!
Marriage & Relationship Goals

New to the Marriage & Relationship Goals Link-up? Goals help our relationships grow stronger and get better with time as well as help us move forward and avoid the "ruts" of life. This link-up was created in hopes of inspiring your relationship with your significant other no matter your chapter in life and love. We would love for you to join us in making the things we do in our relationships intentional.
Changes for 2015: This link-up will be live on Amberly, Charlene and Rebecca's blogs the first Monday of every month. Every third month, the link-up will also be posted on the blogs of 3-6 co-hosts. If you are interested in co-hosting, please contact one of the hosts. We would invite you to pick a word to focus on in your marriage in 2015, center all of your goals around that word and link-up with us each month.

  2. What a great goal! It's so easy for anyone to just "get by" the holidays. Especially in you situation. Good luck on making yourself be intentional about your marriage this month!

  3. I love this idea. I will have to join in this linkup sometime. The holidays are great for being with family but you are so right..they can be stressful and I've been known to snap too. I need to work on that too! Thanks for sharing! :)

  4. You're so right about the holidays being stressful. It's really easy to get caught up in everything we have to get done and not enjoy what should be a wonderful time with family. Great goal!

  5. That is such a good prayer. We do take our stress & frustrations on those closest to us, don't we. I need to pray I don't snap as often at my hubs during the stressful holiday times.

  6. I love your goal and I love your thought behind it. Being pregnant puts a little bit of limitation on how much I can do without my body rebelling and I tend to forget that sometimes, especially when I feel like I have the energy, so I have to be intentional about my stuff and not take on too much as well! Thanks for the reminder.
