This week I have been up to my eye balls in quilts! I got the hair-brained idea to make quilts for my side of the nieces and nephews for Christmas this year and Husbands side next year. Mind you, I have this fabulous idea 2 weeks ago.... (insert scary dun-dun dunnnnnn music here) This was not my best plans.
Craft area = Disaster area and Whole lotta fabric
I'm doing the simplest quilts, just the basic 4" squares in 2-4 colors, and they are lap quilts for them so not that big, but still... HUGE undertaking. I haven't had the chance to write any posts between the quilting and normal house cleaning. Since we adopted Ginny, she has shed like fur is going out of style, and I'm highly allergic to darn near everything, so I have to dust and vacuum every.single.day. just to keep the headaches from turning into migraines. The vet recommended popping an omega 3 pill into her dog food and give her a few months to settle into our home and to get the seasonal fur change over with before we put her on anything. Which is fine, I don't want to put her on anything- but even the vet said she shouldn't really be shedding THIS much. Ah! So, getting back to my point, the blog posts are lacking. They are all in my head, but not typed out to you guys! I promise to try to do better next week!
So for today, I thought I'd share some of my pencil/graphite portraits I've done over the years. Lately, it's been all about sewing, but my first love was always sketching and drawing. I do like to paint, but feel the drawing is my best. I hope you guys have a great weekend and enjoy the portraits!
And in a few weeks, I will begin to accept portrait commissions! $75 will get you a 9"x12" custom graphite portrait of your loved one done by me! I've had many who give these as Christmas gifts when you just can't figure out what to get someone! Email me for more details, and have a great weekend my friends!
