Well, some folks don't care for tattoos, but to each his own, right?
I knew I didn't want a ton of tattoos, just because there are still folks out there who aren't too keen on them, and I didn't want to be judged solely on them. I also knew I wanted to express myself, so here we go...
I scoured the internet for years, looking for the perfect cross tattoo. They were always too.. something, too big, too busy, too small, too...
So, I combined my favorites and analyzed myself to determine what it is I wanted.... Modern, Fresh, Simple, and the main reason- to have a visual reminder of how great my God is. I sketched it out, and here it is..
I AM the Alpha and the Omega, beginning and end, saith the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. - Rev 1:8
Psalm 16:8
"I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken."
I'm a visual person, so this is the very best thing I could ever do to remind myself every second of the day that God is with me- ALWAYS. Everything else may fail, my life could be shredded in an instant, but He will always remain. He is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. In a way, this is a visual promise to him and to the world that He is my beginning and end. I want every aspect of myself and my life to revolve around Him. It's hard to stick with that sometimes when life's messy obstacles get in the way, but now, I pray that every time I look down at this, His grace washes over me. Hallelujah!

ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Tattoos have been getting a lot of talk in the office of the Christian school/church that I work at... we're all contemplating what we'd get and if we should have a tattoo party. :)
