Monthly Marriage and Relationship Goals- Weekly Update

 Marriage & Relationship Goals

Last week I shared my Monthly Marriage and Relationship Goals with you guys, which basically said that I'm going to not be lazy in my relationships-

This month my goals are:
  • Focus on my relationships, be not only present in the moments with my loved ones and friends, but be proactive- send a goodie box when one is not expected back and they have no idea one is coming, (which reminds me, I will be sending out email requests of your addresses) give more time and thought into emails and texts instead of a one word reply or maybe two if I'm feeling extra chatty.
11/11/13- I feel like I've kept this up this past week, I didn't get anyone's address yet,  but I  have put more thought and time into my emails and texts with everyone.

  •  Do not become idle in my relationships. God put these precious people in my life and I will cherish them! I won't sit back and wait for them to respond to my emails/texts/phone calls. I will continue to show them, Hey- I'm thinking about ya!
11/11/13- Progress on this point also this week. I truly value everyone in my life, and I                          hope that I'm conveying this to them each and every time we connect.
  • And finally, do not become sluggish in my work both personal and professional. I have a list of requests for quilts and things to be made for my family and friends and I've just been so scattered lately that everything personal has been put on the back burner! I think my trap is having too much time in the day that I can just keep pushing it further and further off, but it never gets done. I need to schedule it like a normal working day with lunch breaks and everything!
11/11/13- I must admit, I have been a tad sluggish this week. On Friday, I was straightening out my closet and reached just enough to throw my back out. It's not absolutely terrible, just so frustrating and enough pain/muscle spasms to be uncomfortable. But, I still am working hard at scheduling myself and managing my time better!

Although everyone always has room for improvement, I'd say I am making progress on all points! And now, it is snowing and I must take Miss Ginny out, wish me luck!

How are you guys doing on your goals?

Weekly Wishes

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend! We had a little football gathering here on Sunday with some of the Mr.'s family and just relaxed the rest of the time. With every one's crazy schedules, it is always nice to sit and visit, don't you think?

Last week I shared my weekly wishes with you guys, here is how I did on accomplishing my wishes:

The Nectar Collective
1. Compose and schedule all blog posts for the week so I can spend quality time with the Mr. and NOT glued to my computer. Didn't compose a single post ahead, but I'm more determined this week. I just want a day where I don't have to rack my brain for post topics!

2. Get all Etsy orders out and create more product since I will close the store for 2 weeks. Hey, a girl has to recharge her creative juices every once in a while! Taking a small break does that for me! I shipped everything out, but didn't get to create more product. I think I've run out of time with this one before the break. I'll just keep shipping out stock I already have!

 3. Plan and shop for our Thanksgiving meal. I think it'll have to be before Thanksgiving day due to  the Mr.'s weird work schedule, but that's okay. We make things work! Didn't do this one either! I did plan and execute Sunday's gathering, so that counts right?

4. Decorate for Christmas! I'm sorry for those of you who don't agree, but putting up decorations to bring the true spirit of Christmas into our home is so important to me. And I will need longer than from Thanksgiving to Christmas Day to have the decorations up!  This is a big fat check mark complete! I love the decorations up! Glitter everywhere, sparkling throughout the day... I mean what is there not to like?

5. Rejoice in the scriptures as much as possible. I have a lot of different books going on right now, and I think I'll cut down on all but one. Books like, The Love Dare, God's Little Devotional, Woman After God's Own Heart, and my She Reads Truth email comes every single morning. It's just too much to read and try to apply all of the messages at once much less do bible study on books I want to study personally! I'm thinking, I do my study plus ONE book until I finish that one, and THEN pick up another.... sounds like a plan, right? Done and done. I've chosen to read and study the Wife After God book and hopefully my BFF Jessica does it with me! Anyone else is more than welcome to join us! I know it's going to be tough around the holidays, but I need to focus on my relationships- more on this tomorrow when I link up with Amberly for the Monthly Marriage and Relationship Goals!

So for this week, I'm not going to add any more wishes on myself. I will continue to knock out this list and maybe next week I will be able to start a whole new Weekly Wishes list!

A little beach and a whole lotta nothin'

Sorry folks, I have a whole lotta nothin' today! Migraine kept me down yesterday so no awe-inspiring posts were made. Instead, I choose to dump a lot of my favorite Hawaii pictures on you! Yay! So relax and imagine a fruity mai tai drink in your hand and sand in your toes....

The photographer never likes to be photographed!

Bruges

I have a confession- I may have mixed up the tour stops in the first post about our tour with Expat Explore. The first day we drove from London, through the underwater tunnel across to Bruges. Our tour bus driver has to stop and take a break every so many hours, so they schedule stops in cool places. For the first break, we stopped in Bruges, a medieval city known for it's chocolates and beer. It also has amazing fries and stew!

Husband and I love architecture, and Bruges did not disappoint! Take a look at the photos!

Wall of Beer!

I had the cherry beer, it was different, but good!

This was our first taste of the tour, and we were instantly hooked! Besides one of our tour mates getting pick pocketed, it wasn't a bad stop!

Marriage and Relationship Goals

This month will be my second month participating in the Marriage and Relationship Goals link up. I did skip last month, for whatever reason other than just being lazy about it- which is my goal this month!

  • la·zy
  • [ láyzee ]
  • not wanting to work: unwilling to do any work or make an effort

    1. conducive to idleness: contributing to an unwillingness to work or make an effort
    2. slow: moving slowly
    Synonyms: indolent · idle · lethargic · languid · sluggish · slothful

Not wanting to, unwilling, no effort, slow moving, SLOTHFUL! I don't want to be SLOTHFUL! Oh no, this must stop! Which is why I'm making to be anything but lazy this month! If I'm lazy in other things, such as waiting until the next morning to wash those dishes (big pet peeve of mine, but it's happened more than once recently) then I'm pretty sure I'm being lazy in other areas. And that just won't do!

I do not want to describe myself, or be described as LAZY!

    Weekly wishes

Today, I do a little recap of our Sunday and then share my weekly wishes with you guys! So after church, we found this adorable café called Egg Harbor Café.

It's downtown, which made parking a bit of a nightmare, AND a 30 minute wait to be seated... but it was so worth it!

Not only is it decked out with chickens and rooster décor from top to bottom, it has this nice homey feel. I love that about restaurants! So I had the mini skillet with... get this... banana bread French toast! Yummo!

I recently found this weekly wishes link up hosted by The Nectar Collective and thought it was such a nice way to put your wishes, AKA my to do list, up and share it with others! You never know when you will find another blog-mate who has the same goals as you do and you will become blog friends! I love new blog friends! So here goes my weekly wishes:

    1. Compose and schedule all blog posts for the week so I can spend quality time with the Mr. and NOT glued to my computer.

    2. Get all Etsy orders out and create more product since I will close the store for 2 weeks. Hey, a girl has to recharge her creative juices every once in a while! Taking a small break does that for me!

    My hightower

Such a bold verse, isn't it?  To stand up and say that you are weak, you are vulnerable, you are not perfect and that you need help is sometimes excruciating, but the absolute truth. No human is strong enough, perfect enough, and has every single aspect of their lives under control, regardless of what they say and how they appear, (or put on facebook/blog). Everyone needs a little boost at times, a shoulder to cry on, a non-judgment vent session, and whether it's your best friend, or your God, you still need them. For me, it's God. Don't get me wrong, I still vent to my BFF, but God is my rock, my fortress, my deliverer. Everything I tell my BFF, I pour out to Him first.

He is my strength, in whom I will trust- with my feelings, with my thoughts and with my prayers.

The Lord is my buckler, and the horn of  my salvation- He knows everything I've done wrong in my life, every bad thought, every bad word spoken, everything and He still loves me more than I can fathom with my human brain.

He is, and always will be, my high tower.
