Home tour, my quiet space

I've been nesting in our little home lately. I decided to "Bloom where you're planted" and make it really feel like ours even if we are only here for a few years.

If your home is like mine, it can be tough to designate spaces for specific purposes. I have the spare bedroom turned into our office, where I have my new blue desk (future post on that in the works), the Mr. has his desk in there as well. Then our bedroom, I wanted to keep that as uncluttered and relaxing as possible. And the living room, is kind of the hub of the home. I knew that's where the action is, and it became difficult to do my journaling/bible study time in there. I get way too distracted!

This was my problem, how, in a home of only 1100sqft., do you find space to devote to one particular activity? Answer, you make a 5 foot area yours! In our office, I've rearranged my shelves and dresser (full of my crafting supplies) to make a 5 foot space against the wall. Throw in a graciously donated gorgeous table from the Mother in Law, and $29 worth of pretties from Joann's and I have my own little space to spend time with the heavenly Father! I love it!  I filled it with things that make me happy and inspired, enough pens and highlighters that I'll need so I don't have to get up, and just a cozy feeling.

Each morning, I grab my cup of coffee, love on Ginny for a minute, and head to my quiet space. I journal, I do my bible study, and pray each and every morning before starting my day. That 30 mins -1 hour of time is absolutely precious to me. It honestly feels like, after having this time, I'm ready for anything the day may bring!

Isn't it cute? I love it!

Oh! and remember when I said I was doing a painting for a wedding present? They've opened it, so now I can share it with you!  A little back story, this is the lighthouse where he proposed! They are such awesome people and a extremely adorable couple! I hope this gives them much happiness in their new life together!

  4. I love your little quiet space! I wish I had a specific space like that. My quiet area is usually my bed or in the living room on one of our cozy couches. :)

And you did such a great job on that painting! What an awesome gift to have for them.
